Philosophy
of Peace
A Special Series of the Value Inquiry Book Series
published by Editions Rodopi
Philosophy of Peace (POP) in
conjunction with Concerned Philosophers for Peace, explores socio-political and ethical
perspectives on modern warfare, peacemaking, and conflict resolution, including the many
forms of domestic and global violence, such as sexism, racism, and classism.
POP invites new manuscripts, whether monographs or anthologies, for scholarly publication.
Concerned Philosophers for Peace is an association of over 500 North American philosophers, organized in 1981, to bring a philosophical perspective to vital issues of war and peace. Topics addressed by CPP members include the Cold War, nuclear and conventional weapons, strategy and ethics, violence and nonviolence, power and domination, institutional violence, the roles of national and global democracy, racism, capitalism, and classism, and related gender studies. These topics and more can be explored in a POP volume.
